Sun and Skin

Did you know that smoking dehydrates your skin, damages elastic tissue, and causes you to prematurely lose that tight, taut, fresh-faced look?  Smoking leads to puckering wrinkles around the mouth and fine squinty creases around your eyes.   Smoking constricts blood vessels, restricts oxygen uptake, gives a gray color to your complexion, and literally eats up your vitamin C, which in so necessary to collagen formation!   Yucky stuff.   Makes you want to stop, right?    Avoid alcohol and caffeine as well- they rob your body of precious nutrients and moisture!   You can't continue to put garbage in and expect to have a glowing, healthy look to your skin!

Wonderful, nourishing creamy homemade lotion

Here are some great pictures that my daughter, Shannon took in her college's photography department.    I was happy to have some freshly, created creams as her subject!

These are pictures of my hand designed, calendula- infused lotion.
So creamy, thick and nourishing.

Two of my products that are well used and loved:

"Silk

It's like whipped cream for your skin!
A very small ingredient list: Coconut oil, Coconut Butter, Shea Butter, Almond OilVitamin E oil and Essential oils of Eucalyptus & Spearmint or Lemon Whip, or Warm Vanilla. This light whipped and silky cream feels like silk going on.   So wonderful and light, yet so moisturizing.  Good enough to eat. Believe me, the dog ate a whole jar and didn't even get sick! (But I wouldn't recommend that.)

4 oz. tub $7.00

"Breathe"

Clean, fresh, healthy, natural, healing, essential.
Breathe is a natural alternative salve to alleviate headaches, muscle aches, body soreness, and as a respiratory chest, foot and nasal rub.
After making and selling hundreds of jars of this salve, I am convinced of its wonderful healing properties for many problems.  Ingredients- Beeswax, Arnica infused oil and a blend of 12 essential oils.

2 oz. tin          $10.00
4 oz. tin          $15.00

Health

I love making new, healthy lotion and products that are easy and great for skin.   Life should be simple.   Body care products should be too!

The most wonderful lotion ever.   SILK.    A light natural whipped body butter that goes on smooth and moisturizes amazingly.   Coconut oil, Shea butter, coconut butter, almond oil,  essential oils of spearmint and eucalyptus and vitamin E oil are the only ingredients. No drying agents, parabens, chemicals, petroleum products, water or any unnecessary additives.  Refreshingly light, yet totally moisturizing for the entire body
I haven't heard anyone that hasn't LOVED this creamy light lotion.

A Note About Sunscreens

I believe the best nonchemical, highly effective natural sunscreens on the market today are the ones containing minerals such as micronized titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, which acts as  physical reflective barriers to the sun.  This is opposite with the potentially toxic, chemically based sunscreens that actually absorb the suns rays!

Most mineral-based sunscreens can be used by those with sensitive skin and they are relatively sweat-proof and waterproof. --edited from Organic Body Care
